Shiskine Golf Club

A unique 12 hole course on the Isle of Arran with a par of 42, incorporating seven par 3's, four par 4's and a par 5.

The unspoiled seaside links of Shiskine Golf and Tennis Club is set in magnificent scenery overlooking the Kilbrannan sound on the Isle of Arran with splendid views to the Mull of Kintyre. Nestling below Drumadoon Cliffs at Blackwaterfoot, Shiskine's challenging and picturesque 12-hole layout is truly one of the hidden gems in the world of golf.

Founded in 1896 the original nine-hole course was laid out by the famous Willie Fernie of Troon. Fifteen years or so later Willie Park was awarded the contract to extend the course to 18 holes, revising Fernie's layout in the process. Due to the intervention of the First World War six of the new holes fell into disuse for one reason or another to leave Park's unique 12-hole layout as it is today. .... September 2005.

Portpatrick Golf ClubPortpatrick scorecard

Situated above the picturesque seaside village of Portpatrick (known locally as The Port), the Dunskey course sits on the rocky annex known as the Rhinns of Galloway with magnificent views of the Irish Coast, the Isle of Man and the Mull of Kintyre.. No visit to Southwest Scotland would be complete without a round on the Dunskey course. Dunskey has been described by Golf World as "The best holiday course in the South of Scotland". The club celebrated its Centenary in 2003..... September 2004

Brunston Castle Golf ClubBrunston Castle Scorecard

Situated in the heart of Ayrshire in the sheltered valley of the Water of Girvan. The clubhouse commands spectacular views over the beautifully manicured championship course. The course has some superb holes and is well worth a visit.
The 16th Doun 'n' Roun, 17th The Boggies and 18th Bruxelles are a delight to play - as are the others
...... 5 August 2004

Isle of Harris Golf Clubscorecard

Situated in the Outer Hebrides or Western Isles.

The most famous visitor so far has been Nick Faldo, who played here in the early nineties before heading for the Masters. He left a signed £5 note in the honesty box as his green fee. That fiver was glazed, framed and mounted and the Faldo Fiver is now competed for annually by Harris members. Harris Golf Club is one of five courses in the Outer Hebrides and well worth a visit.

The clubhouse is a converted 40' shipping container which was officially opened by Ronan Rafferty ..... April 2004

The course, sloping to the Atlantic is one of the most spectacular on earth - Ian Wooldridge (Daily Mail).

Lancaster Golf Club

The home of Lancaster Golf Club is Ashton Hall which dates back to medieval times and has hosted kings of England in centuries gone by. Lancaster G.C. is an annual visit for the 'Lobden Disciples'

9th Hole - St Leger 385 yd par 4 stroke index 1 requires a 3 wood or long iron played over the marker post to the dog-leg which should leave a long iron in to the green between the huge trees! ...... 31 August 2003

Anstruther Golf Club enjoys terrific views over the Firth of Forth and over the bay to Anstruther ...... 25 August 2003

The 5th hole named Rockies at 215m is the only dog-leg par 3 you may ever come across!
Definitely one of the most difficult par 3's in Scotland. The elevated tee, gorse banking and a knoll that obscures half of the green makes this an extremely difficult shot.

Traigh Golf Club a trip to this golfing outpost is a must ......

"Probably the most beautifully sited nine-hole golf course in the world..."  (The Scotsman newspaper)

Traigh Golf Course is set in one of the most beautiful parts of the West Highlands of Scotland, just north of Arisaig, Inverness-shire. The webmaster can confirm that it is absolutely wonderful.

The ClubhouseThe word Traigh (pronounced 'try') means 'beach' in Gaelic, and a series of sandy beaches run alongside the course, with stunning views to the Hebridean islands of Eigg and Rum, and the Cuillins of Skye.

Southerness Golf Club - one of the finest links course you could wish to play...... 15 August 2003

"Mention the words 'golf` and 'Scotland` in the same sentence and most people reel off names like St. Andrews, Carnoustie, Troon and Prestwick. Others more in the know might also come up with Muirfield, Turnberry and Dornoch,. Until recently, only the real aficionados mentioned Southerness, but that is fast changing.
