Located high on the south Pennine moors above Whitworth, Lobden Golf Club offers spectacular views, and welcomes members and visitors alike.

Since 1888 Lobden has been challenging golfers from near and far, testing players of all abilities in this ancient game. Although the course has changed somewhat since it was founded, the fundamentals of the course have been kept, rewarding skill and judgment above distance, in empathy to the principals laid out by our forefathers. Though not a long course compared to some of today’s standards, the prevailing winds can punish unwary golfers who must balance risk against reward.

A Club Steeped in history

Lobden has a very long history of being a competitive club, with a considerable array of competitions throughout the year for Gentlemen, Lady, Senior and Junior members.  Not to mention Open competitions, Invitations and hosting two local annual golfing events in aid of 'Cancer Research UK'. 
There's the Seniors tour for the self proclaimed "Owd-Gits", and lest we forgetting the 'dreaded dummy' for those winter league blues.  There's something for everyone of all year round - even if its just to meet up with friends and relax in the club-house bar or have a game of snooker.
